Welcome Fellow Blackberry Users!

February 6, 2009 by myberryapps

I have created this blog for blackberry storm users to gain easy access to free applications through their blackberrys. I will try to update this blog daily with the latest applications available.

Another thing I previously forgot to mention is that this site is dedicated to only FREE applications. No paid applications.

If you are a developer and want to feature your applications here, please feel free to contact me. I can help you to host your files. Take a look at “Email us your apps” for more information.

All information about new applications are welcome!

This blog is currently for the Blackberry Storm. I’ll add others when I get the bulk of this done.

Where’s My Phone

December 13, 2009 by myberryapps

Where’s My Phone is currently in public beta.

The beta (test) software is the full “Pro” edition, which will eventually be for sale. A limited-function free edition will also be available.

The beta software will only function for a limited time. After it expires, it will stop working, and you will need to return here to download newer beta software, or, after release, download the free edition or purchase the Pro edition.

Beta software is unsupported, but feedback is encouraged via our Forums. Please check back here often for newer versions.

Latest Beta Version: 2.2.3.1 (12-9-2009 – release notes)

NOTE: If you are currently using a version of “Where’s My BlackBerry”
(previous name), please UNINSTALL IT before installing Where’s My Phone.

Visit www.essare.net/beta from your BlackBerry browser to download.

Requirements:
Where’s My Phone requires at least one email account on your BlackBerry.
Works on any BlackBerry with a trackball, trackpad, or touch screen.
(Older devices with scroll wheels are not supported.)
If you use a password to lock your screen, someone who finds your BlackBerry with
a locked screen will not be able to see the alert screen. The other remote functions will work.

App Beta: LockDown by CMY

December 11, 2009 by myberryapps

Here is a beta of an app I created called LockDown. It is an app to lock/hide files on your device. It works similar to FileLock in that it hides and renames the file, but better (i think). I’ve never used FileLock, so forgive me if I’m wrong.
The app adds 2 menu items to the file explorer menu (LockDown & Secure LockDown). Both menu items provide the same function, except the Secure option makes it so that only my application(s) can read the secured file.

The app works as follows:
* When you select the menu item, it creates a unique key for each file based on the filename
* The normal lock then renames the file to this key and hides it in the same folder, while the secure lock actually encrypts the file before renaming
* Once locked, it then updates a stored file with the original name, unique name, and location so that you know every file that is locked away
* When you open up the app it shows a list of all the files that have been locked (the list is broken up into two different windows: the normal locked files, and the secure locked files)
* Next to each filename is a button that will give you the file details as well as allow you to unlock the files
* The details window gives you two options to unlock the files: session and permanent
* Session unlock will unlock the file until the file list screen is closed (you can use the back button to background the app while you look at the file)
* The permanent unlock option will restore the file to its original name and state.

BuddyGuard Free Beta

December 8, 2009 by myberryapps

BuddyGuard Beta 1 is a new app that allows you to remotely secure and wipe your device in the event of theft or loss. It reminds me of a lite version of SmrtGuard.

Features include:
* Wipe: Remotely wipes contacts, email and phone log data from your BlackBerry.
* Lock: Locks your BlackBerry to prevent unauthorized access. Protects your data without deleting it.
* Alert: Assists in finding a misplaced phone by playing a tone, even if the phone is in silent or vibrate-only mode.
* List: Emails a full listing of the data that would be removed by the Wipe command.
* Help: Remotely receive a listing of the available commands.

The free Beta is available FREE in the BlackBerryCool Store as well as OTA at http://m.terramobility.com/bg.
